No BODY NEVER MIND 002

No body never mind, 002 (premiered in 2005) is part of the no body never mind project which consists of three pieces and addresses the themes of body/mind, exterior/interior, emotion/feeling and I/the other. Throughout the performance, two naked people lick their bodies in order to stick gold leaves onto them, as a way of immortalising a perishable body. Given that saliva is not the best glue for gold leaves, after some time they fall off, turning the process into an endless and absurd exercise. Almost like a Möbius band, No body never mind, 002 is inspired by the tradition of gluing gold leaves onto Buddhist statues in Asian countries.
